Click to buy on-line.In the book, Behind the Mask of Spider-man: The Secrets of the Movie, learn how Rhino was used to develop many of the props for the movie, Spider-man. For details on how Paul Ozzimo and Francois Audouy modeled the Green Goblin's glider, see pages 116 and 141.

Because movies are no longer just live-action or computer-animation, most of the props and sets must be modeled for both animation and construction. As you'll learn from the book, Rhino played a key role in the development of the movie. By using Rhino to model the props, the models could be used for animation and to manufacture full size props for the actors to interact with.

Based on Stan Lee's Spider-man comics, the movie opens May 3rd and is expected to be one of 2002's blockbusters. Spider-man was directed by Sam Raimi, the screenwriter is David Koepp, and is starring Tobey Maguire as Peter Parker, Kirsten Dunst as Mary Jane Watson, Rosemary Harris as Peter's Aunt May, James Franco as Harry Osborn, Willem Dafoe as the Green Goblin®, J.K. Simmons as Jonah Jameson, and Cliff Robertson as Uncle Ben.

The creative team also includes Oscar®- nominated director of photography Don Burgess (Cast Away, What Lies Beneath, Forrest Gump), production designer Neil Spisak (The Gift, For Love of the Game, Heat) and costume designer James Acheson, who has won Academy Awards® for Restoration, Dangerous Liaisons and The Last Emperor.

Spider-Man first appeared in comic books in 1962. The story centers on student Peter Parker who, after being bitten by a radioactive spider, gains superhuman strength and the spider-like ability to cling to any surface. Peter first uses his powers to make money, but when his beloved Uncle Ben is killed by thieves, after Peter chooses not to get involved, he vows to dedicate his life to fighting crime.
